INSPIRATION & MOOD BOARD
Revisiting a project from a Video Game title screen, it was time re-imagine it with PixelSquid. This process began by creating a Mood Board and finding visual inspiration to Art Direct the new concept. Curating imagery that found relationships with design, color, contrast, and mood is critical for achieving high-quality concepts.
PHOTOSHOP SETUP & COMPOSITING
Marking up an image or doing a "paint-over" helps to improve the image content and visual interest. Then building-up depth and elements are key to reach photo-realism. New PixelSquid objects and ground imagery from MattePaint.com were used to achieve a high-quality look for the final result.
As with most advanced compositing, it all comes down to integrating all of the elements into one seamless image. Lighting has to be consistent and dynamic while supporting your focus. Color has to compliment the feel and style while supporting the Mood Board.
FINISHING & BREAKDOWN
The final look of this image needed to feel dark and stormy with pockets of brightness to accentuate the tanks. While the composition is part of this, Effects, Color Grading, Depth, Atmosphere, and image Finishing is what brings it all together to really nail the feel of the Mood Board.
